Here we go.
We leave tomorrow to go get our boy. I am happy tonight. Manny's excitement is palpable. He is thoroughly into the whole thing. The train ride to Washington, staying at our friend's house tomorrow night, the flight to Addis (there is no human being who loves flying more than this guy, I swear that is bizarre to me), the ride to our guest house, and seeing his brother again. He helped me pack tonight, took his bath, and chose toys and clothes for his brother. I did a last minute Target run and got a few things. The other day I put all the beads that people have given to me over the years into a macrame necklace. My first macrame necklace ever and I love it. I will wear it to Ethiopia. I wanted to choose a name for the quilt raffle, but time ran short this week. I promise to do it when we return. With our boys. Keep me in your thoughts. I am afraid of that flight home. I'm afraid of a few things, but more than anything I am contentedly at peace. Thank you and thank you for all the kind wishes and thoughts. Thank you for holding me up on this journey to my son. I carry each of you in macrame around my neck in Ethiopia.

Thinking of you on your most important trip to your family of 4.
So happy for you! Andu's little face is beyond adorable. Wow. Have a wonderful trip.
Wow!! I am a sometimes blog stalker who loves your blog. We were waiting in Ethiopia and then moved to Korea. Brought home our two year old boy three months ago.
I thought to come back here today and LOOK WHAT I FIND. LOVE!!!! JOY. Happy for you.
loooooooove you so much
Hope all goes well. Can't wait to see pics of your sweet boy.
You are still in Ethiopia and hopefully returning soon, and I just want you to know that you mean so much to me. You and your thoughts and your family and your wisdom and love. I am so thankful that I was finally able to meet you in person before you left. Not that you weren't a close friend prior to that, b/c you certainly were and are, but because I just am. Thankful. And Manny always amazes me. You are so good at telling us such great things about your son. And I am really looking forward to stories about Andu too. I'm sure they have already begun. xoxo
Safe travels! Can't wait to hear about it all when you return. :)
